Breakthrough in Quantum Computing with Triplet Superconductors
Physicists have been seeking triplet superconductors for their unique ability to carry both electricity and spin without loss. Professor Jacob Linder from NTNU, along with colleagues, suggests the niobium-rhenium (NbRe) alloy acts differently from conventional superconductors. Their study, involving experimental work from Italian collaborators, points out the potential of NbRe in achieving this quantum leap. This could be crucial for spintronics and more efficient quantum devices. However, further verification by other experimental groups is required.
