Nintendo Releases Game Boy Advance Pokémon on Switch, Excludes Online Subscribers

Nintendo has brought the well-loved Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen to the Nintendo Switch. These GBA-era games were among the first to support wireless multiplayer, originally through the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter. The adapter facilitated a 'Union Room' where up to 30 players could battle and trade, although players were recommended to remain within 10 feet for optimal experience. FireRed and LeafGreen were initially packed with the wireless adapter, making them pioneers of multiplayer features predating built-in Wi-Fi capabilities of later consoles.
