Longtime Virginia Lawyer Chosen by Judges as U.S. Attorney, and Then Fired

The appointment of James W. Hundley as the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia by federal judges was followed by his immediate dismissal by a top Justice Department official, Todd Blanche. This move marked the second time this month in which a federal prosecutor appointed by judges was fired by the administration.
